Performs electrical and electromechanical repairs. Assists with conducting system grooms and checkouts and configuration validation. Prepares and installs system alterations. This role involves heavy lifting, frequent stooping or bending, and possible working assignments in overhead structures, confined spaces, or beneath machinery. Strict adherence to safety, quality standards, good housekeeping habits, a high level of critical thinking/reading comprehension, and frequent travel/overtime are required.

• Requires limited to no supervision/oversight, has experience in the trade qualifications, and can perform all work required as an Electrician.
• Must be able to follow detailed repair procedures and instructions required to complete electrical production operations.
• Perform installation, repair, overhaul or modification shipboard or in shop to electrical or electromechanical systems and components.
• Perform component and/or system troubleshooting to diagnose problems.
• Assist with the performance of on‑site field service for system grooms and checkouts, minor repairs and system configuration validation.
• Prepare and install equipment or system alterations in accordance with the technical specifications.
• Perform shipboard work for electrical system/component evaluations.
• Additional duties as assigned.

• High School/GED with Apprenticeship Diploma and additional vocational courses or technical school graduate; and/or military and/or civilian experience with marine electrical systems in a repair department or shipyard.
• Must have the ability to obtain government base access.
• Knowledge and practical skills tests required.
• Fiber Optic Splicing, Deep Submergence Systems (SOC MCD A, B, and
  
  C), SUBSAFE Qualification.
• Fiber Optic, Cable Way Certification and Connector Fabrication experience is preferred.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret/Confidential security clearance.
• Must be a U.S. citizen who is not a dual citizen of any other country.
• Must be willing to travel up to 75%.
