We are seeking a dedicated Appraisal Trainee for a full-time, on-site role based in Chesapeake, VA. In this position, the Appraisal Trainee will assist certified appraisers in conducting property inspections, gathering and analyzing data, preparing detailed appraisal reports, and ensuring accurate property valuations. Additional responsibilities include researching property records, evaluating market trends, learning industry tools and software, and supporting the team in maintaining regulatory standards and client satisfaction.
This role is ideal for someone pursuing licensure and interested in long-term growth within an appraisal firm.
- Strong analytical and research skills for property data collection and market trend analysis.
- Proficiency in verbal and written communication to prepare and present detailed reports.
- Organized and detail-oriented with the ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Proficiency with appraisal software, Microsoft Office Suite, and other real estate tools is advantageous.
- Knowledge or interest in real estate markets and property valuation processes is preferred.
- Ability to work collaboratively with a team and willingness to learn under certified appraisers.
- A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to travel to property locations.
- Completion of or progress toward required coursework for appraisal licensure is a plus
- Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree per DPOR appraiser requirements.
