Quality Assurance Manager (Heavy Industrial / Fabrication) – Chesapeake, VA – $100,000 - $130,000 + Strong Benefits Package – Heavy Industrial Manufacturing & Fabrication Environment
Why This Role Matters:This is not a back‑office Quality role. As Quality Assurance Manager, you will sit at the heart of complex, high‑stakes industrial projects where quality, compliance, and execution genuinely matter.
You’ll take ownership of the Quality function within a long‑established fabrication and manufacturing business delivering large‑scale marine, infrastructure, and industrial work. With deep resources, stable project flow, and strong leadership backing, this role offers real influence, long‑term security, and the chance to leave your mark on how Quality is done.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead the day‑to‑day operations of the Quality Assurance department
- Develop, implement, and continuously improve the Quality Management System (QMS)
- Ensure compliance with internal standards, customer requirements, and regulatory specifications
- Drive corrective actions and root‑cause analysis using disciplined problem‑solving methods
- Assign, prioritise, and manage workload across the QA team
- Partner closely with operations, engineering, and production teams in an industrial environment
- Interface with customers and external stakeholders as required
- Support extended or non‑standard hours when operational demands require
Must‑Have:
- 5-7+ years’ experience in manufacturing, engineering services, or heavy industrial environments
- Proven background in Quality‑focused roles with real ownership and accountability
- Strong understanding of quality systems, audits, and corrective action processes
- Confident communicator across shop floor, leadership, and customer‑facing settings
- Proficient with Microsoft Office and reporting tools
- ISO 9001 expertise
- Background in shipyard, marine, or heavy structural steel fabrication environments
- Well‑established, privately owned industrial business with long‑term stability
