Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced travel RN for a Med/Surg Tele position in Coastal Virginia, requiring Epic proficiency, prior neuro/stroke experience, and a VA or compact RN license in hand.
Responsibilities- Position is on a Med/Surg Telemetry unit (6S) in an acute care hospital setting
- Day shift, 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM
- Schedule options available: 3x12 or 4x12 — please indicate your preference
- Patient ratio is 1:7
- Every other weekend (EOW) required
- Floating is required
- Holiday coverage is required within the contract period
- Epic EMR — proficiency required, no exceptions
- 13-week contract with possible extension
- Provide telemetry monitoring and med/surg nursing care, including management of neurology and stroke patients
- All requested time off (RTO) must be disclosed upfront at the time of submission
- Position is located in Chesapeake, VA — part of the 'Coastal Virginia' area, minutes from Virginia Beach and Norfolk
- Active VA or compact RN license currently in hand — no exceptions
- Current AHA certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience required; prior travel experience is also required
- Prior experience with neurology and/or stroke patients required
- IV start and telemetry interpretation skills required
- Epic EMR proficiency required
- Clean license and background — no hits of any kind will be considered
- Driver's license and Social Security card required for consideration
- Two professional references required for consideration
