Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced ICU RN with strong neuro experience and a VA or compact license for a night shift position.
Responsibilities- Work in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) with a focus on neuro and critically ill patients
- Patient populations include post-neurosurgical, stroke, respiratory failure, renal failure, post-surgical, trauma, sepsis, MODS, and heart failure
- Ratios are 1:2-3
- Tele, vent management, IV drip titration, conscious sedation, and emergency management are required
- Must be EPIC proficient
- Night shifts, 3x12 or 4x12 schedule options with every other weekend and holiday coverage
- Must be willing to float to Stepdown, ED, or Med Surg to care for ICU patients
- Provide care for a wide range of critically ill patients including those with neurological, respiratory, cardiac, and trauma needs
- Float to other units as needed to support ICU-level patients in Stepdown, ED, or Med Surg
- Holiday coverage required during assignment
- Two professional references required for consideration
- First time travelers will be considered
- Dress code and specific scrub requirements will be provided upon assignment
- Active, unencumbered VA or compact RN license in hand
- BLS, ACLS (AHA), and NIHSS certifications required
- Minimum 3 years of critical care experience preferred, strong candidates with less experience may be considered
- Strong neuro ICU experience (post-neurosurgical, EVD, and stroke) required
- Experience with vents, IV drips, telemetry, and dysrhythmia management required
- Epic EMR proficiency required
- No license or background hits permitted
- Applicant must reside at least 50 miles from the facility; valid driver’s license required for address verification
