Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an ICU position requiring strong neuro experience and a VA or compact license.
Responsibilities- Work in the ICU at a hospital setting
- Care for neuro, post-neurosurgical, stroke, respiratory failure, renal failure, post-surgical, trauma, sepsis/MODS, and heart failure/post-cardiac cath patients
- Patient ratios are 1:2-3
- Night shift with 3x12 or 4x12 options, including weekends and holidays
- Floating required to Stepdown Unit and may float to ED/Med Surg for ICU holds
- Uses Epic EMR (proficiency required)
- Telemetry monitoring, vent management, IV drip titration, and conscious sedation required
- Responsible for managing complex neuro and critical care patients with advanced monitoring and interventions
- Must be flexible to float to stepdown or other units when needed
- Team-oriented environment with strong support for neuro critical care
- Holiday shifts are required during the contract as assigned
- First-time travelers will be considered
- Two professional references required for consideration
- Active VA or compact RN license in hand at time of consideration
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications via American Heart Association, and NIHSS certification required
- Strong neuro ICU experience required, including post-neurosurgical, EVD, and stroke care
- Minimum of three years critical care experience preferred, but strong candidates with less experience may be considered
- Travel experience preferred
- Epic EMR proficiency required
- No license or background hits will be considered
- Must not reside within 50 miles of the facility; valid driver's license required for address verification
