Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an ICU position requiring strong neuro experience and a VA or compact license.

• Work in the ICU at a hospital setting
• Care for neuro, post-neurosurgical, stroke, respiratory failure, renal failure, post-surgical, trauma, sepsis/MODS, and heart failure/post-cardiac cath patients
• Patient ratios are 1:2-3
• Night shift with 3x12 or 4x12 options, including weekends and holidays
• Floating required to Stepdown Unit and may float to ED/Med Surg for ICU holds
• Uses Epic EMR (proficiency required)
• Telemetry monitoring, vent management, IV drip titration, and conscious sedation required
• Responsible for managing complex neuro and critical care patients with advanced monitoring and interventions
• Must be flexible to float to stepdown or other units when needed
• Team-oriented environment with strong support for neuro critical care
• Holiday shifts are required during the contract as assigned
• First-time travelers will be considered
• Two professional references required for consideration

• Active VA or compact RN license in hand at time of consideration
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications via American Heart Association, and NIHSS certification required
• Strong neuro ICU experience required, including post-neurosurgical, EVD, and stroke care
• Minimum of three years critical care experience preferred, but strong candidates with less experience may be considered
• Travel experience preferred
• Epic EMR proficiency required
• No license or background hits will be considered
• Must not reside within 50 miles of the facility; valid driver's license required for address verification
