Cardiac Registered Nurse (RN) – Outpatient Cardiology Office – Virginia Beach

Full-time

The Cardiac Registered Nurse provides collaborative care to ensure safe, comprehensive clinical care in the outpatient cardiology office setting.

Hours/Shift:

Full-time – Monday to Friday, 40 hours/week, No nights or weekends

Responsibilities:

• Position includes both direct patient care and clinical calls (incoming/outgoing) with patients to complete triage/phone assessments, review cardiac testing/lab results, and medical treatment plans as prescribed by the provider.
• Direct patient care includes nurse visits for:
  • Blood pressure follow-up
  • Medication review
  • EKG performance and review
  • Walk-in, symptomatic patients
• Cross-training opportunities include:
  • Cardiac stress testing performance
  • Heart monitor application
  • Coumadin clinic
  • Assisting ultrasound technicians in administering bubble studies and enhanced echo imaging agents
• Enters data in the EMR.
• Provides patient education.
• Other activities and responsibilities as directed.

Job Requirements:

• RN-Diploma (non-degree), RN-Associate’s Degree, or RN-Bachelor’s Level Degree.
• Active, unrestricted nursing license to practice in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) required;
  Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) preferred.
• Computer literate; prior experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) preferred.
• Cardiac experience strongly recommended.
• Strong organizational and analytical skills.
• Ability to work as a team with coworkers and providers.
• Strong interpersonal and patient care skills.
