** Summary Leads safety & security efforts for the assigned Perdue Agribusiness Complex by maintaining a world-class culture through continuous improving safety processes. Technical expert partnering with operation leadership to deliver operational results through impactful safety, health, and security solutions. Describe below the major responsibilities of this position which must be fulfilled with or without reasonable accommodations to achieve the essential purpose of this position.
+ Leads all safety & security efforts for assigned Complex (crush, refining, grain production operations and associated transportation truck, rail, barge, ship). Manages, develops, executes, implements, and promotes a safety culture and behavioral based safety program throughout complex in conjunction with the safety director. Partner with the Perdue Live and Manufacturing Ops safety teams to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and corporate standards.
+ Leads facility security team/guard force in managing security processes to include developing/ administering site security practices and policies, supporting and tracking required key performance indicators including training objectives, and timely completion of site surveys and or audits. + Develop and deliver training programs to engage and educate leaders across the organization on safety management systems, promoting a culture of safety excellence and continuous improvement.
+ Provides technical expertise for cross functional teams to ensure safe operational processes and capital/engineering projects. Collaborates with functional experts in vehicle safety, corporate security, environmental, PSM, and other areas to align facility activities and objectives. Provides interpretations for OSHA, NFPA, DHS, DOT, and other pertinent regulations to ensure processes and policies comply with applicable laws and regulations. + Continuously interacts with the hourly work force to promote safety awareness, drive associate engagement, and ensure a world-class safety culture exists within the operations supported.
Works aggressively to resolve safety issues and concerns. + Leads site safety business plan development by analyzing relevant data and tracking/reporting facility and corporate KPIs/metrics. Validates plan's actions through internal safety and security auditing tracking findings through closure. + Provides training support to complex personnel to ensure that all required safety and security training is effectively completed on time. + Ensures effective investigations on all safety and security incidents are completed, participating actively during complex and high impact investigations.
Ensures root cause is determined and appropriate corrective actions developed, tracking recommendations to closure. Utilizes incident data to develop action plans to address hazards and emerging trends. + Liaisons for 3rd party assessments, audits, & inspections, i.e. insurance carrier, local fire department, risk engineering firms, OSHA, DHS, etc. + Conduct regular site inspections and audits at supported assets in assigned region/complex, identifying safety and security risks, implementing corrective actions, and driving continuous improvement in workplace safety.
+ Builds relationship with occupational health/medical; to improve associate safety, wellness, and case management for supported sites. Actively involved in worker's compensation, assisting the occupational health nurse/third party administrator in effectively managing all open claims. + Builds relationship with occupational health/medical; to improve associate safety, wellness, and case management for supported sites.
