Summary

The Diagnostic Radiology Clinical Lead is responsible for the maintenance and quality of patient care throughout the organization.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Establish daily work assignments for technologists.
  • Perform visual preventative safety inspections and report dangerous department equipment conditions to appropriate personnel.
  • Perform annual equipment inspections and make corrections as dictated by HFAP.
  • Utilize all assigned functions of the Radiology Information Computer System (RICS).
  • Provide portable X-ray service to all areas of the hospital.
  • Reviews images to ensure good quality and, if necessary, works with technologists to improve image quality.
  • Confirm patient identification prior to procedure by verbal confirmation on outpatients and identification band on in-patients.
  • Coordinate apron/glove inspections as required by HFAP.
  • Assist Radiology Supervisor in monitoring stock levels and ordering supplies as needed, staying within the established expense budget.

  • Participate in the development and evaluation of policies and procedures.
  • Assist Radiology Supervisor with the development of specific modality protocols.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to maintaining a flexible work schedule to ensure patient care when deemed necessary.
  • Attend required meetings and in-services.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities

Reports To:

Radiology Supervisor, but may also be assigned work from the Radiologist or the Administrative Director of Radiology.

Supervises:
Diagnostic Radiology Technologists

Responsibilities: N/A

Education and Experience

Minimum Required

Education:

Graduation from an approved Radiography School

Experience:

5 plus years radiology experience to include completion of training in Diagnostic Radiology

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

Applicants must be ARRT registered or registry eligible; applicants who are registry eligible must be registered within three months of employment. Must be BLS certified
