Clinical Authorization Specialist at Sentara Health

Chesapeake, VA

Morning (Days) Monday - Friday, 8:30am-5pm, 40 hrs/wk

The Clinical Authorization Coordinator is responsible for maintaining, confirming, and securing referrals, authorization, or pre-certifications required for patients to receive medical procedures and/or medication/enteral therapy. Ensure accuracy and completeness of patient account information and maintain a database of payer authorization requirements.

• High LPN or Pharmacy Tech Trade School (Required)
• High School Diploma or Equivalent (Required)

• Virginia Pharmacy Tech License (Required)
• CPhT License (Required; obtained through NHA or PTCB)
• Virginia LPN License (Required)

• 2 Years Pharmacy Experience (Required) OR 2 years Clinical Experience (Required)
• Home Health Experience (Preferred)
• Authorization Experience (Preferred)
• Epic Experience (Preferred)
