Overview
The Radiologist Technologist-Limited is responsible for the maintenance and quality of patient care on a continuing basis for the Diagnostic Radiology department and throughout the organization.
Responsibilities- Produce a variety of high-quality radiographs through proper positioning and technique.
- Utilize assigned functions with the Radiology Information System to complete paperwork and document.
- Utilize the hospital computer system to enter radiology charges, and/or credits.
- Review patient s chart for confirmation of physician s orders and follow written and/or verbal protocols and instructions.
- Follow department, ACR, NRC and State policies and regulations for radiation safety to keep exposure "ALARA"
- Educate the patient and family when necessary, regarding exams and procedures.
- Perform visual preventative safety inspections and report dangerous department or equipment conditions to the appropriate personnel.
- Communicate equipment malfunctions and low inventory levels to appropriate leader.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

- Work as a team to continuously improve work quality.
- Confirm patient identification prior to procedure by verbal confirmation on outpatients and identification band on inpatients.
- Attend required hospital-wide orientations, meetings, and in-services.
- Present self in a positive manner as reflected by personal attire and etiquette.
- Demonstrate a commitment to flexible work scheduling, when necessary, to ensure patient care.
Minimum Required
Education:
Completion of Limited Scope Radiologic Technologist educational program. Must pass the ARRT Limited Scope core examination.
Experience:
None required, healthcare background preferred.
Applicants must have a Virginia Department of Health license to practice as a LIMITED Radiologic Technologist; must be BLS certified within 1 month of employment.
