Overview
The Radiologic Technologist Assistant is responsible for the maintenance and quality of patient care on a continuing basis for the Diagnostic Radiology Department and throughout the organization. All duties will be under the direct supervision of a Registered Technologist.
Responsibilities- Produce a variety of high-quality images through proper positioning and technique
- Review patient’s chart for confirmation of physician's orders and follows written and/or verbal protocols and instructions
- Follow department, ACR, NRC, and State regulations for radiation safety to keeps exposure "ALARA"
- Follow MRI safety guidelines
- Transport patients as needed
- Educate the patient and their family, as needed, regarding the exam, treatment, and outcome
- Perform visual preventative safety inspections and report dangerous department or equipment conditions to the appropriate personnel
- Communicate equipment malfunctions and low inventory levels to the appropriate supervisor
- Perform procedures as the schedule requires and rotates call if needed
- Reports to/has all images/scans checked by registered technologist before sending to PACS
- Review supporting documents
- Navigate EPIC as necessary (i.e. beginning exams, ending exams, ordering contrast, adding patient history, and any other assignments needed by registered technologist)
- Perform other duties as assigned

Education and Experience- Minimum Required
Education:
Applicant must be a student of an accredited program in radiologic technology or MRI. The applicant must be in good standing (i.e. not on probation or remediation). - Experience:
The applicant must have completed the first year of Radiology Technical program at an accredited education institution.
- Must be BLS certified within 1 month of employment.
