Radiologic Technologist / CT Tech
Summary
The CT Scan Technologist is responsible for the maintenance and quality of patient care on a continuing basis for the CT department and throughout the organization.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Confirm patient identification prior to procedure by verbal confirmation on outpatients and by the identification band on in-patients
- Use schedule to maximum efficiency, maintain patient flow, and schedule. add-ons
- Produce high quality CT scans through proper positioning and technique.
- Proficiently use scanners to include sending to Nighthawk, 3DR, and VRAD.
- Follow all protocols and procedures to meet department standards
- Work closely with the radiology nurse and the radiologist when performing biopsy and drainage procedures
- Utilize assigned functions with the Radiology Information System to complete paperwork and to document contrast media reactions
- Follow department, NRC, and State regulations for radiation safety to keep exposure "ALARA"
- Review patient’s chart for confirmation of physician s orders and follow written and/or verbal protocols and instructions
- Communicate equipment malfunctions and low inventory levels to the appropriate lead
- Utilize the hospital computer system to enter radiology and laboratory orders, charges, and/or credits
- Educate patient, and family when necessary, regarding the exam, treatment, and outcome
- Perform visual preventative safety inspections and report dangerous department or equipment conditions to the appropriate personnel
- Follow ACR Guidelines to maintain ACR Accreditation.
- Perform other duties as assigned

Minimum Required
Education:
Graduate of an accredited program in radiologic technology
Preferred Education:
N/A
Experience:
Previous experience as a registered technologist is required
Applicants must be ARRT (CT) registered within 18 months.
Must be BLS certified.
