Position Overview

We are seeking a licensed Structural Engineer with strong expertise in Revit and Antiterrorism/Force Protection (AT/FP) and Blast‑Resistant (BR) design to join our growing team in Virginia Beach. This role offers a clear growth path, with the selected candidate being groomed for Department Manager responsibilities as the office expands. The position will be an even split between hands‑on design work (50%) and client‑facing responsibilities (50%), making it ideal for a technically strong engineer who also thrives in a leadership and relationship‑building capacity.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform and lead structural design for Federal and DoD facilities, with a focus on AT/FP and Blast‑Resistant structures.
  • Utilize Revit (mandatory) for all design and documentation tasks.
  • Collaborate with the Roanoke office for drafting and design support.
  • Attend and lead client meetings, representing the firm in project discussions and reviews.
  • Support business growth initiatives and prepare to step into a management role as the Virginia Beach office expands.
  • Ensure compliance with federal design standards and guidelines.
Required Qualifications
  • 7–8 years of structural engineering experience (minimum of 4 years required to qualify for PE license).
  • Active PE license (any state; reactivation of expired license is acceptable).
  • Strong proficiency with Revit (AutoCAD not required).
  • Hands‑on experience in Antiterrorism/Force Protection and Blast‑Resistant structural design (mandatory).
  • U.S. Citizenship required (no clearance needed).
Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior experience supporting Federal/DoD projects.
  • Familiarity with Mason & Hanger, AECOM, or similar project environments.
  • Strong client‑facing skills with ability to manage technical and non‑technical discussions.
  • Work Arrangement:
    Hybrid schedule:
Remote on Mondays & Fridays, onsite Tuesday‑Thursday.
  • Relocation support not provided; non‑local candidates must be able to start onsite from Day 1.
