Electrical Consultants, Inc. is a leading power engineering consulting firm with over 40 years of experience. We have an immediate opening for an Assistant Project Manager (APM) to support our electrical studies group.

Newport News, VA – $–$

Assist electrical engineers in a wide variety of electric system planning and design studies, including AC and DC power systems.

• Organize, validate, and update study information for multiple simultaneous projects.
• Maintain planning task tracking tools and electric system models.
• Prepare narrative reports with charts and tables in collaboration with engineers.
• Communicate and collaborate with internal groups on project-related items.
• Assist with developing estimates, proofreading reports, and coordinating project meetings.
• Provide light administrative support as required.

• High school diploma and a 2‑ or 4‑year college degree.
• Training in math, physics, or engineering coursework is a plus.
• Computer literate with proficiency in spreadsheets, e‑mail, and typing.
• Ability to learn complex tasks, be well organized, and detail oriented.
• Effective writing and communication skills.
• Strong problem‑solving skills and ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
• Capability to work independently or in a team environment as needed.
• Willingness to undergo client‑mandated drug and background checks.
• Occasional travel/driving required; subject to ECI’s auto insurance carrier requirements.
