Bachelor's or Master's degree in School Psychology, active School Psychologist license and minimum 1+ years School Psychologist experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

A school psychologist position is available in Chesapeake, VA, offering a contract role with a schedule designed to support student success and professional balance. This role involves providing vital psychological services within a school setting, collaborating with staff and families to foster a supportive learning environment tailored to each student's needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive psychological assessments, testing, and diagnostic evaluations to identify student needs.
  • Recommend effective interventions to enhance students' learning experiences and address psychological challenges.
  • Provide individual and group therapy sessions focused on behavior modification and emotional support.
  • Assist in the identification and appropriate placement of students requiring special education services.
  • Maintain clear and ongoing communication with parents, educators, and support staff.
  • Keep detailed records and prepare progress reports to track student development.

Qualifications and

Experience:

  • Valid Virginia School Psychologist License required.
  • Experience working in educational settings preferred.
  • Strong skills in psychological testing, assessment, and therapeutic techniques.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.

Work Schedule:

  • 37.5 hours per week, typically from 8:45 am to 3:45 pm.
  • Scheduling may be adjusted based on school assignments and caseload preferences.
