Operator II's are responsible for operating all heavy equipment on a jobsite with the exception of cranes. The majority of their tasks require physical labor in an outdoor environment on a construction site.
Essential Job Functions
Equipment Operation and Proficiency:
Skilled in operating a variety of heavy equipment such as excavators, bulldozers, loaders, skid steers loaders, and rollers. Ability to perform tasks like digging, grading, loading, and lifting with precision and efficiency.
Equipment Maintenance and Inspection:
Knowledgeable in routine maintenance and inspection procedures to ensure equipment is in optimal working condition. Ability to identify and troubleshoot minor mechanical issues and report major problems to maintenance personnel.
Safety and Compliance:
Comprehensive understanding of safety regulations and best practices related to heavy equipment operation. Committed to adhering to Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) guidelines and company safety policies to minimize risks on the job site.
Site Preparation and Layout:
Proficient in interpreting site plans and blueprints to understand project specifications and requirements. Ability to prepare and grade construction sites to ensure proper foundations and structures.
Operational Efficiency:
Capable of performing tasks quickly and accurately to meet project deadlines. Skilled in optimizing equipment performance and productivity while minimizing fuel consumption and wear.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or GED preferred with three (3) years of construction experience and at least three (3) years' experience operating cranes.
