Overview
Heartland Construction, Inc. is seeking a seasoned Project Superintendent to support its active and growing construction portfolio throughout Hampton Roads. This role provides the opportunity to lead a range of project types across the company’s portfolio, with the expectation of full-time, on-site leadership dedicated to a single project assignment to ensure disciplined execution, quality outcomes, and schedule performance.
The Project Superintendent will be responsible for leading day-to-day field operations on predominantly ground-up new construction projects, with occasional additions and renovations, depending on portfolio needs.
Responsibilities- Provide full-time, on-site leadership for a single assigned project from mobilization through closeout
- Plan and manage construction sequencing, schedules, and subcontractor coordination
- Enforce safety, quality control, and site logistics standards
- Coordinate closely with Project Management, owners, architects, and inspectors
- Maintain an organized, professional jobsite environment aligned with company standards
- 10+ years of superintendent experience preferred
- Proven experience delivering ground-up projects in the $50M+ range; experience on smaller projects is beneficial
- Background in healthcare, hospitality, K-12, higher education, or commercial construction
- Strong understanding of construction means, methods, and field leadership best practices
- Ability to work on projects located throughout Hampton Roads
- Long-term role with exposure to a diverse construction portfolio, while remaining fully dedicated to one project at a time
- Stable pipeline of predominantly new construction work
