STAFF ACCOUNTANT
Location:
Main Office Chesapeake, VA (Hybrid: 1 remote day/week)
Schedule:
Full-time, 40 hours per week.
Salary: $60,000.00 - $65,000.00 Annually

About the role:
Oil/energy company seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our growing team.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys digging into numbers, ensuring accuracy, and supporting a smooth month-end close process.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform monthly financial statement reviews to ensure accuracy and completeness
- Prepare and complete monthly general ledger reconciliations for all balance sheet accounts
- Assist with month-end close activities, including journal entries and variance analysis
- Maintain organized and well-documented work papers supporting all reconciliations
- Identify discrepancies and work cross-functionally to resolve issues promptly
- Support annual audits by preparing schedules and providing documentation as needed
- Assist with process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy within the accounting function
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or related field
- 1-3 years of accounting experience preferred
- Proficiency with accounting software, Quick Books Online, and Excel (pivot tables, lookups, etc.)
- Excellent attention to detail and strong analytical skills
- Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple prioritie
