Financial Controller

Responsibilities

• Lead all accounting operations, including month-end close, reconciliations, journal entries, and full financial statement preparation
• Maintain and reconcile bank accounts and credit cards
• Oversee billing and receivables, handle multi-state tax compliance, and estimated tax filings in conjunction with external accountant
• Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies
• Produce Profit & Loss (Income Statement), Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow Statements
• Manage equipment and asset records, property tax, and depreciation schedules
• Process bi-weekly payroll using ADP and associated HR processes
• Ensure compliance with business licenses, and bond as needed
• Assist with Accounts Payable, subcontractor documentation, and other general tasks
• Ensure license and DOT compliance
• Build relationships and communicate effectively with owners, vendors, customers, and internal staff

• AS in accounting, business or related degree
• 5+ years of experience in a related role
• Solid foundation in accounting principles (GAAP)
• Strong Excel and MS Office skills
• Experience in vending service a plus
• Familiarity with multi-state licensing and compliance
• Initiative and flexibility; must be willing to take on various tasks as needed
• Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple responsibilities
• Strong organizational and time management skills
