Staff Nurse, Paediatrics - Part Time pw

Overview

We are currently recruiting for a Band 5 nurse, to work across our Paediatric Day unit and Outpatients Departments. We are looking for passionate and enthusiastic individuals committed to excellent patient experience to join our team.

Oak Ward is much more than just a surgical day unit. We cover a wide range of paediatric surgery from Orthopaedic to ENT and we also care for medical patients requiring specialist investigations to infusions. Our day unit comprises of 12 beds, caring for children and young people up to the age of 18 years. The unit is situated next to the Paediatric inpatient ward with which we work in close partnership.

Core opening hours are Monday to Friday with shifts from 07:15 to 19:45. You are guaranteed to gain a wide range of knowledge and experience.

Our Outpatients department is a dynamic unit covering a wide range of clinics including Haematology, Rheumatology, Endocrine, Epilepsy, Allergy, Cardiac, Urology and Paediatric Surgery. Paediatric Outpatients is split between St Peters Hospital and Ashford Hospital. The nursing team also carry out investigations such as Sweat Tests and assist with the Specialist Nurse Practitioners and Phlebotomy.

We have close links with the University of Surrey, Kingston University and UWL which has enabled us to develop multi skilled practitioners. We are looking for motivated, enthusiastic Paediatric Nurses to join our small, friendly and dynamic team in our Paediatric Day Unit (Oak Ward) and Outpatients Department. We care for children and young people from birth up to their 18th birthday.

On Oak Ward at St Peters, we care for children and young people who are having day surgery, specialist infusions, blood transfusions and specialist investigations like Endocrine.

In our Outpatients Department, we help facilitate clinics across both sites - St Peters and Ashford for a wide range of specialties including general surgery, urology, diabetes, general paediatrics, epilepsy and genetics. We encourage staff to develop both clinically and managerially by providing a comprehensive induction program, preceptorship and in-house training as we encourage staff to develop in every aspect of their career.
