Job Summary
Are you an experienced neonatal nurse with a passion for patient safety and quality improvement? Our Level 3 Neonatal Unit is offering an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated and dynamic individual to join our dedicated Quality Team as a Neonatal Governance Lead Nurse
.
In this pivotal role, you will play a key part in delivering the Quality Governance Assurance Framework within our neonatal service, ensuring the highest standards of patient care, safety, experience, and clinical effectiveness
.
You will work collaboratively with the Perinatal and Paediatric Governance Teams
, supporting learning from incidents and embedding a positive safety culture in line with the Patient Safety Incident Response Framework (PSIRF). Your strong clinical background and leadership skills will help drive improvements and innovation in practice, ensuring that our babies and families receive exceptional care.

Has extensive neonatal clinical experience and a sound understanding of governance processes
Demonstrates a commitment to continuous quality improvement
Can effectively engage and influence teams across the neonatal service

Main duties of the job
Take a lead role in the delivery of the Quality Governance Assurance Framework within neonatal to ensure that the quality of care, patient experience, patient safety and clinical effectiveness is of the highest standard and meets national and local outcomes.
Take a lead role in ensuring that the Trust's Quality Safety and Risk Management Strategy is embedded in paediatrics and neonatal.
Support the Divisional Quality Governance Manager in co-ordinating clinical and non-clinical risk management activities across within paediatrics and neonatal.
Support the Divisional Quality Governance Manager in monitoring incidents/events recorded via the Trust reporting system relating to the division in order to co-ordinate and communicate actions taken locally.
Disseminate learning that arises through incident investigation.
Assist in preparing reports for presentation at all corporate meetings.
Assist and participate in allocated Clinical Quality projects.
Support the co-ordination of audit.
Assist in the development of teaching programmes and delivery to all grades of staff as appropriate.
To keep abreast of the National Agenda in regards to Patient Safety.
Support the division to respond to complaints raised by families
Deputise for the Divisional Quality Governance Manager in their absence.
In the absence of the Divisional Quality Governance Manager, attend and contribute to relevant Divisional and Board level meetings
