Crossing Guard; Part-time

Cherry Hill Township is looking for part-time Crossing Guards to cover various morning and afternoon posts. Essential Functions

• Provides assistance to children crossing the street, maintains children's safety in traffic, and directs or expedites the flow of traffic at crossing.
• Places and removes signs marking the location of the crossing.
• Signals traffic to stop/resume using hand and/or other signal devices.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
• Morning posts can begin from 7:15 AM to 8:15 AM and last approximately one (1) hour.
• Afternoon posts can begin from 2:45 PM - 3:00 PM and last for one (1) hour.
• Early dismissal posts can begin from 12:00 PM to 12:45 PM and last for one (1) hour.
• Delayed opening posts can begin from 9:15 AM to 10:15 AM and last for one (1) hour.

• Ability to effectively communicate in English, both verbally and in writing.
• Ability to remain aware of and alert to a variety of environmental factors, such as moving vehicles and weather.
• Ability to exercise good judgment and make rapid decisions related to the speed and distance of multiple vehicles.
• Knowledge of traffic regulations pertaining to school and pedestrian crossings.
• Skill in interacting with the public, especially children.

• Must possess a valid New Jersey Driver's license and be able to provide their own transportation to and from posts.
