We have been engaged in a search for a newly created Divisional Controller role for a growing, PE-backed services organization with over a billion in revenue. This is a hands-on leadership position for someone who wants to own the entire accounting function
, build processes from the ground up, and grow a team over time.

This role is ideal for a senior accounting professional who thrives in ambiguous, fast-moving environments and is comfortable being both strategic and execution-focused
.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own and manage the monthly close process and general ledger.
  • Oversee AP, AR, cash management
    , and reconciliations; stay hands‑on as needed.
  • Develop and document GAAP‑compliant accounting policies and procedures
    .
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting for leadership.
  • Partner cross‑functionally on budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
  • Coordinate audits and ensure regulatory and compliance requirements are met.
  • Design and implement internal controls and scalable workflows.
  • Hire, mentor, and lead a small accounting team as the function matures.

Background We’re Targeting

  • 10–15 years of progressive accounting experience (up to ~20 years considered).
  • Deep experience owning the full close cycle and general ledger
    .
  • Proven success in lean, build‑from‑scratch, or high‑growth environments
    .
  • Flexible, roll‑up‑your‑sleeves mentality with strong follow‑through.
  • Executive presence and ability to communicate clearly with non‑finance leaders.
  • CPA preferred but not required.
