Overview

Patient Access Supervisor - FT, Evenings (3P-11:30P) - Cherry Hill & Stratford ED

Responsibilities
  • Oversees the daily registration functions within Patient Access’s scope of work. Ensures the operational unit is staffed appropriately and delivers a positive patient experience for patients and families.
  • Supervises efficient and compliant registration processes, ensuring regulatory and compliance requirements and adherence to departmental and institutional protocols.
  • Prioritizes responsibilities to complete daily work, resolves departmental and patient problems, and monitors key performance metrics to achieve goals.
  • Maintains staffing schedules, responds to time-off requests, manages resources to cover vacancies with minimal overtime, and ensures coverage for smooth operation.
  • Manages on-site operations including MyTime payroll & attendance, downtime support, and deposit reconciliation, and adheres to project deadlines and budgets.
  • Responds to patient complaints or stakeholder concerns and identifies ways to improve registration processes.
  • Participates in interviewing and hiring new employees; contributes to education and training of new hires; oversees onboarding to ensure competence.
  • Provides constructive communication to service delivery areas and escalates issues to Patient Access Leadership in a timely manner.
  • Appraises staff performance, addresses complaints, mentors staff, and manages time and attendance for compliance.
  • Maintains professional demeanor and fosters a positive attitude within the department.
  • Ensures regulatory and compliance requirements are met and that departmental and institutional protocols are followed.
  • Strives to achieve individual and team performance metrics and completes staff quality assurance reviews.
  • Completes staff annual performance evaluations and provides feedback on progress toward goals.
Qualifications
  • Knowledge of patient registration, third-party insurance coverage, benefits, authorizations/referrals and coverage requirements.
  • Proficient with computer and Microsoft Office; familiar with healthcare EHR applications (e.g., EPIC, Cerner).
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills; strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills; strong QA and critical thinking skills.
  • Minimum

    Education and Experience:

    Associate’s degree in healthcare or business admin required, or in lieu of degree at least 5 years of relevant healthcare experience.
  • AND Minimum of 2 years of Patient Registration experience;
    Minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience in a physician practice or hospital environment.
Salary and Benefits
  • Salary Range: $39,937.42 to $56,910.82. Actual rate based on experience and qualifications. Not eligible for annual incentive.
  • Work Shift:

    Workday Day (United States of America).
