The Department of Radiation Oncology at Thomas Jefferson University is recruiting a Medical Physicist for a dynamic and collegiate Radiation Oncology Department and Medical Physics Division.

About the DivisionThe Medical Physics Division consists of 27 physicists, 16 dosimetrists, 7 physics residents, and 4 post‑doctoral research fellows. It spans eight locations, including the Bodine Center for Cancer Treatment, Jefferson Hospital for Neuroscience, Asplundh Cancer Pavilion, Torresdale Hospital, Jefferson New Jersey, Cherry Hill, and two locations at Jefferson Einstein. System‑wide equipment includes Varian Linacs, a View Ray MRI‑Linac, and Elekta’s brachytherapy studio.
The division leads a well‑funded, high‑impact research program focused on functional imaging, AI/machine learning, multi‑lesion SRS, MR‑guided radiation therapy, advanced brachytherapy, radionuclide dosimetry, and physics‑led clinical trials.
Primary responsibilities include patient care consisting of external beam radiotherapy, SRS, SBRT, HDR, and other clinical services as needed.
Physicist will contribute to the daily, monthly, and annual quality assurance programs.
Clinical coverage will be at the Center City Jefferson campus and other locations as required.
Candidate participation in teaching medical physics residents.
Opportunities to engage in advanced clinical practices and research, with faculty appointments available for qualified candidates.
Qualifications- PhD degree in Medical Physics.
- Board certified or board eligible.
- Experience in clinical medical physics. Residency graduates are also considered.
