** Job Details
** The Echocardiography Technologist performs complete echo cardiographic examinations including M-mode, two-dimension and Doppler Echocardiography on clinical and/or research patients. Assists the Cardiologist, Fellows or other appropriate personnel in performing trans esophageal echo cardiographic and stress echo cardiographic examinations. He/she may also assist in coordinating efficient patient flow, staff assignments, educational support and highest quality procedures consistent with IAC standards for Echocardiography.
** Job Description
*** Escorts patient from waiting area to examination room and reviews written history questionnaire. Explains nature of test to patient.
* Performs echocardiograms – 2D, M-mode, color Doppler according to department policy to comply with physician orders/standard of care.
* Performs trans-esophageal echocardiograms (TEE) on non-operative/intra-operative basis according to department policy to comply with physician orders/standard of care.
* Performs dobutamine stress echocardiograms (DSE), Stress Echocardiograms according to department policy to comply with physician orders/standards of care.
* Logs all pertinent patient/test data to ensure accurate billing/record keeping for the hospital and department.
* Monitors performance/repair of clinical equipment to ensure the quality of all testing and the safety of staff and internal/external customers.
* Maintains images in EHR
* Cleans/disinfects/sterilizes clinical equipment to ensure staff and internal/external customer safety from pathogens.
* Participates in on call as per department policy. Performs other duties as assigned.

** Minimum

Education and Experience Requirements:

*** High school diploma and completion of a two-year echocardiography training program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) or cardiovascular technology program accredited by the CAAHEP.
* 1+ year’s echocardiogram experience preferred.
** Minimum Certifications, Registration or License Requirements:
*** Registration by a national certification organization such as American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) or Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) required. Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification required.
** Salary Range**$21.61 to $30.79 Hourly The actual hiring rate will be determined based on candidate experience, skills and qualifications. This position is not eligible for an annual incentive.
