Second grade teacher Cherry Hill

The Second Grade Teacher is responsible for providing high-quality instruction in a self-contained classroom setting. This role includes teaching core academic subjects—Math, Language Arts, Religion, Science, and Social Studies—while fostering a nurturing, structured, and faith-centered learning environment. The teacher will support students’ academic, social, emotional, and spiritual growth and fulfill homeroom, lunch/recess, and other duties as assigned by the Principal.

• Develop and deliver engaging lesson plans aligned with educational standards.
• Teach reading, writing, math, science, social studies, and religion using creative, interactive, and developmentally appropriate methods.
• Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of students in a self-contained classroom and to utilize small group instruction/centers

• Establish and maintain a positive, organized, and safe classroom environment.
• Set clear expectations, rules, and procedures that promote respect, responsibility, and active learning.

• Observe, assess, and document student academic, social, and emotional progress.
• Prepare progress reports and participate in parent-teacher conferences.
• Use assessment data to guide instruction and provide targeted support.
• Work collaboratively with fellow teachers, specialists, and administrators to support student success and school-wide initiatives.
• Participate in faculty meetings, committees, and school events.

• Maintain regular, professional, and tactful communication with parents through conferences, notes, emails, and phone calls.
• Partner with families to support student growth and development.

• Serve as a homeroom teacher.
• Supervise lunch, recess, and other duties as assigned by the Principal.

Essential Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education or a related field.
• Valid state teaching license/certification preferred.
• Patience, compassion, and a genuine love of working with young children.
• Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
• Effective classroom management and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to integrate technology effectively into instruction.

Salary Range: $30,000-$40,000, based on experience
