Consumer Insights Manager (Specialty Food Division, N.A.)
Pay Range for this position is: $140,000-$210,000 plus annual bonus, depending on experience.
Position SummaryThe Consumer Insights Manager, N.A. Specialty Foods reports to the Chief Marketing Officer, N.A. Specialty Foods and is based out of our Cherry Hill, New Jersey location. This individual plays a pivotal role in shaping business strategy by uncovering deep consumer understanding. This position leads the design and execution of qualitative and quantitative research to explore consumer behaviors, preferences, and motivations.
By transforming data into actionable insights, the role informs key decisions across marketing, product development, and brand messaging, ensuring strategies are grounded in consumer‑centric thinking.
- Develop and execute the consumer insights strategy aligned with specialty food division business goals, supporting growth across key categories and brands
- Act as a premier internal service provider to specialty food division key stakeholders, delivering scalable insights solutions that support pipeline development and strategic engagement
- Design and implement qualitative and quantitative research projects and methodologies—including surveys, focus groups, and interviews—to uncover consumer motivations, perceptions, and satisfaction drivers
- Translate research findings into strategic recommendations that inform marketing campaigns, product innovation, and brand messaging
- Analyze consumer, sales, brand, and market data using statistical tools to identify trends and deliver meaningful insights
- Create compelling reports and presentations to communicate insights and implications to key stakeholders
- Partner with teams in marketing, sales, and product development to ensure insights are embedded in decision-making and aligned with business objectives
- Conduct market and competitor analysis to identify emerging trends and opportunities within the broader food industry landscape
- Build strong relationships with market research and intelligence vendors to ensure best‑in‑class execution and delivery of customized projects
- Contribute to functional planning by developing objectives, budgets, and procedures that strengthen the insights infrastructure
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor degree in Business, Marketing or related field with five plus (5+) years of progressive experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Managerial experience (a plus)
- Deep knowledge of the managed sub‑function and solid knowledge of the overall divisional function.
- Drive for results with a hard work ethic and action orientation
- Responsible and accountable for ensuring projects are completed on‑time and deliver optimal results
- Brings conviction to introduce new ideas and fresh ways of thinking and operating
- Strong oral and written communication skills, including ability to develop and deliver compelling presentations
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in the food/beverage industry
- Experience in report writing
- Proven organizational skills
- Ability to direct, coach and train others.
- Consultative, influential, strategic thinking and problem‑solving skills.
This position requires sufficient physical ability to work in a typical office setting; driving a motor vehicle and occasionally working in the field.
Frequent: sitting, upward and downward flexion of neck; fine finger dexterity and light to moderate finger pressure to include extended periods of keyboard and mouse use, side‑to‑side turning of neck, walking, standing, bending and stooping, pushing/pulling, twisting at waist, moderate wrist torque to twist equipment knobs and dials.
Occasional: squatting, kneeling, reach above and at shoulder height, moderate grasp to manipulate reference books and manuals; lifting objects weighing up to 50 pounds from below waist to above shoulders and transporting distances up to 50 feet.
Vision:
Ability to see in the normal visual range with or without correction.
Hearing:
Ability to hear in the normal audio range with or without correction.
