About Symbionic Tech
Symbionic Tech is a fast-growing assistive technology startup based in Chennai. We design and build user-centric prosthetic solutions that make daily living easier for people with disabilities, starting with upper limb amputees.
Our flagship product, Krea Adaptive, is a modular kit of activity-specific prosthetic attachments that helps amputees get back to everyday activities like riding a bike, cooking, and working with confidence.
Why this role matters
Assistive technology sits at the intersection of design, engineering, and human life. The right device can change how a person works, travels, and sees their own future.
As Community Outreach Coordinator, you help connect people who need assistive technology with the solutions we build. You will meet users and families, understand their stories and needs, and help them access the right support. You will also be the face of Symbionic with NGOs, hospitals, CSR teams, and community partners.
If you care about people, enjoy being on the field, and want your work to have visible impact, this role is for you.
Role Overview
You will be the primary bridge between Symbionic, partner organisations, and users. Your responsibilities include:
Identifying and building relationships with NGOs, hospitals, companies, and community groups.
Supporting the process of identifying amputees who may benefit from Krea Adaptive.
Coordinating assessments, demos, and camps.
Documenting outcomes and impact.
This is a field-intensive, relationship-driven role with a mix of desk work and on-ground work.
Key Responsibilities
1. Outreach and Partnerships
Identify and map NGOs, hospitals, rehabilitation centres, CSR teams, and community groups that work with people with disabilities.
Reach out through calls, emails, and meetings to introduce Symbionic and explore partnership opportunities.
Schedule and attend introductory calls, presentations, and follow-up meetings with decision makers and community leaders.
2. Identification and Field Work
Plan and conduct field visits, screening camps, and meetings with partner organisations.
Use Symbionic's assessment formats to document user details, needs, and goals.
Coordinate with the internal team to schedule measurements, trials, and fitment dates.
3. Product Demonstrations and Events
Plan and support product demos for potential beneficiaries, NGOs, and CSR partners.
Represent Symbionic at stalls, events, exhibitions, and medical camps.
Ensure all demos are conducted with dignity, empathy, and clarity for users and their families.
4. Documentation and Reporting
Maintain accurate and updated records of:
Calls made
Meetings held
Organisations contacted
Users identified and their assessment status
Use tools like Google Sheets and basic CRMs to keep data organised.
Prepare simple weekly reports on outreach, leads, and beneficiary pipeline.
5. Impact Tracking
Support pre and post assessments for users who receive Krea Adaptive.
Collect basic outcomes, feedback, and stories that reflect the impact of the device.
Work with the internal team to convert these into impact case studies for CSR and NGO partners.
Requirements
Must Have
Strong communication skills in English - both spoken and written.
Comfortable speaking to strangers, presenting basic information, and building trust with different stakeholders.
High ownership mindset and ability to work independently without constant supervision.
Willingness to travel frequently within Chennai and occasionally to other locations.
Basic proficiency with Google Sheets, Docs, and email.
Residing in or willing to relocate to Chennai.
Good to Have
