QC/QA Automation Engineer/Tester (Web Application & API Testing,)

Location  :
Chennai

About   the   Role

We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented QC / QA Automation Engineer to ensure the quality, performance, and reliability of our modern web applications built with  Next.js (Frontend)  and  NestJS (Backend)  using  Type Script .
As our product ecosystem expands, we aim to strengthen our automation coverage across frontend, backend APIs, CI/CD pipelines, and performance validation.
This role requires strong hands-on experience in automation testing, API validation, CI/CD integration, and performance optimization.

Key Responsibilities
Automation Testing (Frontend – Next.js)
Design, develop, and maintain end-to-end (E2E) test suites using  Playwright
Perform cross-browser testing (Chromium, Firefox, Web Kit)
Maintain regression and smoke test suites
Perform component-level testing using  Jest / React Testing Library  (good to have)

Backend Testing (NestJS)
Write and maintain API tests using  Jest and Supertest
Validate REST APIs, authentication flows, and role-based access
Perform integration testing for controllers and services
Conduct API testing using  Postman or similar tools
CI/CD & Quality Gates
Integrate automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines
Ensure quality validation on pull requests and release builds
Maintain automation reports and test artifacts
Implement quality gates for controlled deployments
Performance & Optimization
Conduct performance, accessibility, and SEO audits using  Lighthouse / Lighthouse CI
Debug and improve web application performance
Analyze Core Web Vitals and optimize application speed
Collaborate with developers to resolve performance bottlenecks
Required Skills
Strong hands-on experience with  Playwright (preferred)  and/or Selenium
Experience writing and maintaining automation test scripts

Experience with  Jest and Supertest  for backend testing
Strong understanding of  Next.js applications
Basic to intermediate knowledge of  NestJS
Strong proficiency in  Type Script
Experience integrating test suites into CI/CD pipelines

Experience with performance debugging and Lighthouse
Testing Tools Exposure (Preferred):

· API Testing:
Postman, Swagger/OpenAPI

· Bug Tracking:
Jira, Azure Dev Ops

· Performance Testing: JMeter, k6 (basic exposure is a plus)

· Automation (Optional):
Selenium, Playwright

· Database Validation: SQL basics, MySQL/Postgre

SQL tools
Good to Have

· React testing library

· Git Hub Actions/Git Lab CI/Jenkins

· Experience with bug tracking tools (Jira, Azure Dev Ops, etc.)

· Knowledge of Agile/Scrum processes
