Job Description:

Vision-Aid is seeking a tech-driven lead (3 - 5 years of experience), preferably sighted, with strong expertise in PDF and web accessibility testing. The role involves leading a dynamic team of six visually impaired professionals and delivering high-quality accessibility projects to global clients.

This role requires a strategic thinker with a hands-on approach to problem-solving and a commitment to delivering exceptional results.

Roles & Responsibilities :

- Lead end-to-end PDF accessibility testing projects, ensuring quality and compliance with client requirements.
- Manage delivery operations by aligning project goals with client expectations and organizational objectives.
- Work closely with the immediate supervisor to ensure all project outcomes are delivered as per the agreed client scope.
- Manage client engagements, including communication, progress updates, and timely, high-quality delivery.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define project scope, objectives, deliverables, and timelines.
- Monitor project progress, performance, and delivery metrics, and provide regular updates to stakeholders.
- Identify project risks and implement mitigation strategies to ensure successful outcomes.
- Lead, mentor, and support team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and excellence.
- Oversee delivery targets, team coordination, workload planning, and performance tracking.
- Drive continuous improvement and innovation in delivery processes to enhance efficiency and impact.
- Promote inclusion, accessibility best practices, and Vision-Aid’s social impact mission across projects.

Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining high quality standards.

Mandatory Skills

- Knowledge and proficiency in MS Office tools for preparation of Reports
- Experience in managing delivery processes in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively.

Preferred Skills

- Knowledge of general problems and behaviours of visually impaired students
- Expertise in semantic tagging (Headings, Tables, Lists, and Reading Order).
- The ability to "think" like a screen reader user to determine if the reading order actually makes sense.
- You'll often need to write Alternative Text (Alt-text) for complex charts and maps—this requires being concise yet descriptive.
- Figuring out why a complex nested table is "breaking" the tag tree requires a bit of detective work.
