Software Business Analyst
Role Description Summary
As a Technical Business Analyst, you will be responsible for assisting in the translation of business needs into clear, actionable, and technically sound requirements that development teams can implement. You will analyze existing systems and workflows, break down functional and non-functional requirements, and produce documentation such as process maps, data flows, acceptance criteria, and user documentation. In addition to supporting solution design and validating delivered features, you will also analyse incident and problem trends, reviewing root causes, recurring patterns, and system behaviours to identify where processes, requirements, or system logic need improvement.
By working closely with product owners, developers, testers, architects, and the Incident Management Lead, you will help ensure that software solutions are accurate, scalable, resilient, and aligned with both user needs and operational realities.
Primary Responsibilities / Key Result Areas
Conduct requirement analysis, ensuring clarity in business logic, data needs, and downstream impacts.
Model processes, decision flows, and user interactions that support intuitive and usable product behaviour.

Support QA and developers by clarifying expected behaviours, edge cases, and business rules.

Provide contextual and analytical support during major incidents by clarifying business rules, expected behaviour, workflows, and system impacts.
Assist with root cause analysis (RCA) by helping differentiate between requirement errors, process errors, and technical failures.
Support operational readiness by validating whether new or updated requirements might impact stability or behaviour post-release.
Identify recurring patterns in defects, incidents, or user feedback and translate them into actionable enhancements.
Support updates to functional documentation, user workflows, and knowledge articles.
Support the PO in creating workshops, discovery sessions, demos, and requirement walkthroughs.
