Role Overview
We are seeking a Senior Open Shift Virtualization (OSV) Engineer with a strong infrastructure and platform engineering background to design, build, automate, and operate scalable Open Shift Virtualization environments. The role focuses on capacity management, automation, SRE practices, and secure hybrid cloud infrastructure to support enterprise workloads.
Key Responsibilities
Platform & Infrastructure Engineering
Design, implement, and maintain Open Shift Virtualization (OSV) platforms for VM-based workloads.
Manage compute, memory, storage, and network resources to ensure high availability and performance.
Collaborate with enterprise architects and application teams to deliver scalable platform infrastructure.
Implement and maintain RBAC, name spaces, and resource quotas across Open Shift environments.
Capacity Management
Conduct capacity planning and forecasting for CPU, memory, storage, and network utilization.
Analyze resource usage trends and recommend optimization or scaling strategies.
Develop and maintain capacity reports and models to support strategic planning.
Automation & Dev Ops
Develop automation solutions using Ansible, Terraform, and scripting (Python/Shell) .
Automate repetitive OSV tasks such as VM lifecycle management, snapshot cleanup, audits, and remediation.
Integrate infrastructure provisioning and configuration into CI/CD pipelines (Tekton preferred).
Enable Git Ops-based workflows for platform consistency and repeatability.
Reliability, Monitoring & Security
Implement SRE principles to improve platform stability, scalability, and operational efficiency.
Integrate monitoring and observability tools (Dynatrace or similar) with SLA and QoS metrics.
Apply enterprise security best practices including IAM, logging, monitoring, encryption, backups, and disaster recovery.
Ensure compliance with organizational security and governance standards.
Collaboration & Continuous Improvement
Work closely with developers, service providers, and stakeholders to evolve platform capabilities.
Advocate feedback and continuously improve platform usability, performance, and reliability.
Mandatory Skills
Open Shift Virtualization (OSV) – hands-on VM lifecycle management
Linux / Red Hat Enterprise Linux
Ansible & Terraform (Infrastructure as Code)
Kubernetes & Open Shift
Cloud Platforms: AWS / Azure / GCP (Hybrid Cloud experience)
CI/CD & Dev Ops tools (Git Hub, Tekton)
Storage & Capacity Management
Networking fundamentals & protocols
Strong troubleshooting, communication, and problem-solving skills
Preferred Skills & Certifications
Red Hat Certified Specialist in Open Shift Virtualization
Open Shift Git Ops experience
VMware exposure
Software-Defined Networking (SDN) / Software-Defined Storage (SDS)
Dynatrace or similar monitoring tools
SRE and platform reliability experience
Experience Requirements
10+ years total IT experience
8+ years in infrastructure / platform engineering
Strong experience guiding teams and driving best practices
