Program Manager - Technical Documentation

We are seeking a  Program Manager - Technical Documentation  to lead the digital transformation of our industrial equipment documentation. You will be responsible for implementing and managing a new content management system (CMS), significantly improving maintenance efficiency and customer satisfaction. This strategic role requires a blend of technical knowledge of industrial equipment, expertise in content management, and strong program leadership to guide cross-functional teams and drive continuous improvement.

Roles & Responsibilities :
Develop and execute the strategic vision for the digital transformation of technical documentation.
Build and lead cross-functional teams, securing executive sponsorship and managing stakeholder expectations.
Define success metrics for the CMS implementation and establish governance frameworks.
Lead the evaluation and selection of CMS technologies, overseeing system architecture design and integration with existing enterprise systems.
Develop content models, metadata frameworks, and standards for content structure, authoring, and publication.
Guide the migration of legacy documentation into the new system.
Design and implement efficient workflows for content creation, review, and publication.
Establish quality assurance protocols, terminology management, and localization processes.
Build and mentor a team of content strategists, technical writers, and documentation specialists.
Foster collaboration between engineering, service, training, and documentation teams.
Analyze system usage and performance metrics to identify improvement opportunities.
Stay current with industry trends and lead ongoing enhancement initiatives.
Develop roadmaps for integration with emerging technologies (AR/VR, IoT, AI).

Skills Required:

Proven experience implementing  content management systems  or similar digital platforms.
Strong understanding of  technical documentation principles and best practices .

Experience with  structured content, XML-based documentation, or DITA .
Familiarity with  industrial equipment documentation  and maintenance procedures is preferred.
Working knowledge of  CMS and documentation tools .
Understanding of database structures, content modeling, and metadata standards.
Strong stakeholder management and influencing abilities.
Strategic thinking and vision-setting capabilities.
Proven  change management and organizational transformation skills .
Team building and cross-functional leadership experience.
Problem-solving mindset with attention to detail.

QUALIFICATION:

Bachelor's degree in technical communication, engineering, information science, or a related field.
