About the Role
This is not a support or operational role.

This is a strategic, high-credibility position built for someone who has spent their career inside Malaysian higher education institutions — who understands the weight of an Academic Senate decision, the rigour of an MQA audit, and the political landscape of a university's Academic Affairs Committee. Someone who can sit across the table from a Dean or Registrar and be received as a peer, not a vendor.
As our Academic Expert, you will be the organisation's most authoritative academic voice in every client engagement. You will lead walkthroughs of our full academic management suite, advise institutions on governance alignment, and reposition our platform conversations — elevating us from software provider to genuine transformation partner. When senior academic leadership needs to be convinced, you are the person in the room.

What You Will Do

Academic Leadership Engagement & Pre-Sales
Lead comprehensive, authoritative product walkthroughs of the Academics end to end solution, Scheduling, Registry, and Assessment modules — tailored for Deans, Registrars, Academic Directors, and Quality Assurance Heads.
Participate in pre-sales engagements as the academic credibility anchor, building trust with senior institutional stakeholders and directly contributing to improved engagement and close rates.
Engage deeply with institutional leadership to understand each university's academic structure, governance model, and strategic priorities.
Academic Governance Advisory
Advise client institutions on aligning system implementation with MQA accreditation requirements, SETARA ratings frameworks, and MyRA research assessment criteria.
Bridge academic governance language — Senate structures, credit frameworks, OBE requirements — with practical, actionable system configuration recommendations for implementation teams.
Review client academic workflows and deliver structured gap analyses between current-state operations and platform capabilities.
Transformation Workshops & Strategic Consulting
Lead or co-lead academic transformation workshops with university leadership teams, facilitating discussions on process improvement, system adoption, and institutional change management.
Help institutions envision and articulate what modernised academic operations look like — and how the platform enables that vision.
Internal Knowledge & Product Contribution
Serve as the organisation's internal authority on the Malaysian higher education regulatory and accreditation landscape.
Contribute domain expertise to product roadmap discussions, ensuring the platform evolves in alignment with real academic governance needs.
Mentor junior team members on higher education academic governance concepts and best practices for senior client engagement.

What We Are Looking For
Must-Have
PhD strongly preferred; or a Master's degree with a minimum of 10 years of senior academic administration experience.
Deep, applied knowledge of MQA standards, SETARA ratings frameworks, and/or MyRA research assessment criteria — not surface familiarity, but working institutional knowledge.
Direct experience operating within academic governance structures:
Senate, Academic Board, Quality Assurance committees, or Curriculum Development units.
The standing and presence to engage with Deans, Provosts, and Registrars as a peer — credibly, confidently, and on equal footing.
Demonstrated ability to deliver structured, high-stakes product or process walkthroughs to senior academic audiences.
Strong written and spoken English; proficiency in Bahasa Malaysia is a strong advantage, particularly for engagement with Government-linked universities.

Good to Have

Prior experience in academic consulting, advisory, or digital transformation in a higher education context.
Publications, research output, or recognised committee participation that carries institutional name recognition within the Malaysian HE landscape.
Familiarity with ERP or student information platforms and how they support academic programme management, credit systems, and GPA computation.

Experience with curriculum mapping, outcomes-based education (OBE) frameworks, and accreditation audit preparation.
An established network within Malaysian public and private university leadership communities.
