Role Overview
We are looking for a Senior Accountant with 3+ years of Post Qualification experience to join our finance team in Chennai. The ideal candidate should have a strong accounting background, excellent analytical skills, and experience in financial reporting. This role requires collaboration with teams across time zones (IST & MST) and expertise in accounting principles, compliance, and process optimization.
Key Responsibilities
Accounting & Financial Reporting:
Supervise and review daily accounting functions, including accounts payable/receivable, journal entries, and general ledger maintenance.
Prepare and review financial statements, balance sheets, profit & loss statements, and cash flow reports.
Ensure compliance with local accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
Analyze financial data and prepare reports for senior management and stakeholders.
Support audits and internal reviews to ensure compliance with financial policies and standards.
Ensure timely month-end and year-end closing processes are adopted by the team.
Maintain general ledger accuracy and perform variance analysis.
Support budgeting, financial planning, and cost control activities.
Process Improvement & Cross-functional Collaboration
Work closely with global finance teams and perform intercompany reconciliations.
Help optimize accounting workflows and enhance internal controls.
Ensure smooth coordination between finance and other departments.
Required Qualifications & Skills
Education:
Qualified Chartered Accountant.
Experience:
Minimum 3+ years of post qualification experience, preferably in a multinational or corporate environment.
Strong knowledge of accounting principles.
Hands-on experience with ERP systems (Netsuite, Quickbooks or similar).
Proficiency in MS Excel and google sheets.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, a hands-on approach.
Effective communication and ability to work across time zones.
Attention to detail and ability to meet tight deadlines.
