Job brief:

Magic Books, the accounting and finance division of American Technology Consulting, is hiring a Bookkeeping Accountant with strong hands-on experience in Sage accounting software (Sage 50 / Sage 50 Cloud) to support US-based clients.

We are looking for a disciplined and detail-oriented accounting professional who can independently manage bookkeeping operations, maintain accurate financial records, and ensure compliance with US accounting standards.

This role is ideal for candidates who have worked extensively on Sage platforms and have real-time exposure to US accounting processes.

Job Description:

- Manage day-to-day bookkeeping using Sage 50 / Sage 50 Cloud
- Handle Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)
- Maintain accurate general ledger entries and chart of accounts
- Perform bank and credit card reconciliations
- Prepare journal entries, accruals, and adjustments
- Support month-end and year-end closing activities
- Generate financial reports, including:

Profit & Loss

Balance Sheet

Cash Flow

AR/AP Aging

- Monitor expenses, budgets, and cash flow
- Assist in US tax compliance and documentation
- Support audit processes with required schedules and documentation
- Ensure compliance with US GAAP and accounting best practices

Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 3–5+ years of experience as a Bookkeeper or Bookkeeping Accountant
- Mandatory:
Hands-on experience with Sage 50 / Sage 50 Cloud
- Experience supporting US accounting operations
- Strong understanding of bookkeeping principles and reconciliations
- Familiarity with US GAAP and tax compliance processes
- CPA is desirable but not mandatory

Required Skills:

- Strong reconciliation and analytical skills
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work independently and manage deadlines
- Proficiency in MS Excel (intermediate level preferred)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
