Role Overview
Job Description – Accounts Manager (Auditing Firm)
The Accounts Manager will handle end-to-end accounting functions, manage client accounts, oversee statutory compliance, and support audit operations within the firm. The role requires strong expertise in accounting standards, taxation, auditing procedures, and team management. Candidates must be CA or CA-Inter with proven experience in an audit firm.
Key Responsibilities
Accounting & Financial Management
Manage day-to-day accounting operations for multiple client accounts.
Finalize books of accounts:
Balance Sheet, P&L, Cash Flow.
Ensure accuracy of ledgers, entries, reconciliations, and accounting schedules.
Review GST, TDS, income tax workings, and ensure timely filing.
Monitor accounts receivable/payable and maintain financial discipline.
Audit & Compliance
Lead statutory audit, tax audit, internal audit, and special audits for clients.
Prepare audit documentation, working papers, and reports as per standards.
Ensure compliance with Accounting Standards, Income Tax Act, GST Act, and other statutory regulations.
Coordinate with auditors and respond to audit queries.
Taxation
Prepare & review GST returns, TDS returns, income tax returns (ITR 1-7).
Handle tax assessments, notices, and client representations.
Assist in tax planning and advisory for clients.
Client Management
Act as the primary point of contact for client accounting and audit requirements.
Understand client financial needs and provide recommendations.
Maintain strong relationships and deliver timely, accurate information.
Team Leadership
Supervise junior accountants and article assistants.
Allocate tasks, review work, and ensure adherence to timelines.
Train team members on accounting standards, audit processes, and compliance updates.
Reporting & Documentation
Prepare monthly/quarterly MIS, financial analysis, and management reports.
Maintain accurate audit files, checklists, and documentation.
Support partners with client presentations and financial reports.
Skills & Competencies
Strong knowledge of Accounts Finalization, Auditing Standards, GST, TDS, and Income Tax.
Proficiency in Tally, Busy, Excel, and accounting/audit software.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills.
Strong communication skills for client coordination.
Ability to manage multiple clients and deadlines.
Leadership skills with ability to guide and review team work.
Additional Requirements
CA or CA-Inter is mandatory.
Experience in an auditing firm preferred.
Ability to work with tight timelines and handle multiple audits.
Strong ethical standards and attention to detail.
