We currently have an exciting career opportunity for an Associate/ Senior Associate to join the CAS team in our Advisory practice - Chennai office.
Cohn Reznick is a hybrid firm and most of our professionals are located within a commutable distance to one of our offices. This position is considered hybrid which means team members are expected to be thoughtful and intentional in how they create opportunities for in-person collaboration. While the cadence of in-office presence is determined at the team level, our professionals are encouraged to be in the office/together in person on average 3 days a week.
YOUR TEAM.
This position will support our CAS team. We are seeking a detail oriented and experienced individuals to join our team. This role involves managing day-to-day accounting operations for U.S. based clients operating in real estate, hospitality, renewable energy and not for profit.
The ideal candidate will have experience in U.S. accounting, particularly in accounting workflows, POS systems, AP/AR, credit card and third-party reconciliations. The Client Advisory Services team is a rapidly growing team, where we partner with our clients to perform accounting and technology services. Our goal is to leverage the best staff, cutting edge technology, and efficient processes to exceed our clients' expectations.
Some of our services include outsourced accounting, financial statement close assistance, virtual controller/CFO services, and accounting technology solution development.

YOUR ROLE.
Responsibilities Include But Not Limited To
Manage full-cycle accounting for clients including AP, AR, and general ledger.
Reconcile daily sales from POS systems with bank deposits and accounting records.
Perform credit card reconciliations and third-party platform reconciliations.
Prepare monthly financial statements, variance analysis, and management reports.
Preparing and/or assisting with the reconciliation of accounts (bank, credit card, prepaids, liabilities, payroll, etc.)
Track and reconcile payroll, tips, and gratuities in compliance with U.S. standards.
Monitor cost accounting, inventory adjustments, etc.
Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management.
Support audit and tax teams with documentation and schedules.
Collaborate with U.S. client teams to resolve queries and ensure timely deliverables.
Review work of junior associates and provide mentorship.
Calculating accruals, prepaid expenses, deferred revenues, etc.
Recording journal entries & performs thorough self-review of all work prior to submission for final review.
Ensures quality control procedures are being followed and executed.
Maintains positive client and colleague relationships.
Positively represents and actively promotes the Firm.
Proactively seeks knowledge, new tasks, and responsibilities.
Your Experience.
The successful candidate will have:
Bachelor's or master's degree in accounting or finance with 3+ years of experience in US Accounting.
Ability to work on the corporate accounting processes and procedures such as cash management, AR/AP, month end close, payroll and benefits.
Experience in U.S. accounting, specifically in hospitality, real estate, renewable energy and not for profit
-based environments.
Hands-on experience with POS systems and accounting platforms (Quick Books, Sage Intacct, M3).
Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and Industry-specific accounting practices.
Experience with credit card and third-party reconciliations.
