Lecturer – Communication Sciences & Disorders

The College of Health Science and Public Health invites applications for a full‑time Lecturer, a 9‑month position in the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders (CMSD) to begin August 16, 2026. Lecturers must hold at least an MA or MS in speech‑language pathology, communication sciences and disorders, audiology, or a related field, or an AuD, and must possess an American Speech‑Language‑Hearing Association Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC‑SLP or CCC‑A) and a Washington State license in speech‑language pathology, audiology, or be eligible for licensure.

Expected salary upon hire: $59,884. • Master’s degree or AuD in communication sciences and disorders, speech‑language pathology, audiology, or related area
• Evidence of clinical experience and supervision with strong potential for successful teaching
• ASHA CCC‑SLP or CCC‑A
• Washington state SLP or AuD licensure, or eligibility for state licensure
• Ability to engage in respectful, collegial relationships with students, faculty, and staff
• Responsive, flexible approach supportive of the diverse needs of students, faculty, staff, and the public

• Five or more years of clinical experience in a variety of practice areas for children and/or adults
• One or more years of teaching/supervision experience in a CSD program
• Working knowledge of HIPAA and FERPA regulations
• Currency in, and working knowledge of, the profession and the program

Skills related to managing clinical supervision assignments, building and marketing specialty clinics, ensuring compliance with accreditation standards, maintaining clinic‑patient files, and providing service to the department, college, and university are valued.

Teaching: Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in accordance with expertise and program/departmental instructional needs; conduct clinical education and supervision in area(s) of expertise; supervise community speech, language, and hearing screenings; assure maintenance of clinic‑patient files in accordance with HIPAA; manage clinical supervision assignments to assure compliance with accreditation standards; build and market specialty clinics; provide service to the department, college, university, and the discipline of communication sciences and disorders.

• Maintain current, valid licensure at own expense
