Executive Assistant / Clery Compliance Officer
Eastern Washington University Police Department seeks a highly skilled Executive Assistant / Clery Compliance Officer to provide high‑level administrative, operational, and regulatory support within the Division of Business & Finance.
Job SummaryAs both the Executive Administrative Assistant to the Chief of Police and the Department’s Clery Compliance Officer, you will ensure seamless operations, confidential executive support, and effective office management while maintaining full compliance with the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and the Campus Crime Statistics Act.
Responsibilities- Manage executive calendars, coordinate briefings, and prepare the Chief for all engagements.
- Coordinate travel, expense reports, and executive correspondence.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for visitors, phone inquiries, and confidential communications.
- Oversee records management, including retention schedules, reporting to NIBRS, and Public Records Act requests.
- Lead the University’s Clery Act Compliance Program, including annual training, reporting, and compliance audits.
- Supervise administrative staff, support budget development, and maintain the department website.
- Coordinate department training, access, and compliance with CJIS training and Washington State Patrol audits.
- Pass state and federal background check.
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Criminal Justice, Emergency Management, or related field (or substantial experience).
- Prior experience in upper‑level administrative support roles.
- Professional, confidential, and highly organized with strong attention to detail.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and database systems.
- Understanding of financial management, accounting practices, and budgeting concepts.
- Prior experience with Clery Act compliance. Experience with Title IX or other regulatory reporting.
- Three or more years in higher education or a similar environment.
- Prior supervisory experience and law‑enforcement background.
Salary range: $68,227 – $84,720 (based on education, experience, and skills). Benefits include health and disability insurance, retirement, paid holidays, tuition waiver, and access to campus facilities.
