Materials and Logistics Operator

Job Description

As a Materials and Logistics Operator you will support our manufacturing team by managing the accurate receipt, storage, and issuance of materials, while maintaining high standards of stock control and integrity. Your role ensures that production runs efficiently and that all aerospace industry standards are met.

Responsibilities Goods Inwards
  • Ensure accurate receipt of goods, including customer products.
  • Book all goods—including returned items—into IFS promptly and logically.
  • Inspect goods against delivery documentation and scan all received documentation.
  • Identify and report variances to paperwork and purchase orders.
  • Coordinate with other areas to resolve booking issues.
  • Book items received from Ultra’s customers for repair.
  • Contact suppliers and customers to resolve booking delays.
Stores
  • Receive and store production materials, maintaining location control and traceability.
  • Pick and issue materials for production, repair, and development work orders.
  • Dispatch goods against customer sales orders.
  • Maintain high stock accuracy through daily cycle checking, annual stock takes, and discrepancy reporting.
  • Investigate and resolve stock discrepancies using comparison data.
  • Follow aerospace industry standard procedures and keep all documentation up to date.
  • Adhere to H&S policies, minimizing risks and promoting safety awareness.
  • Lead and contribute to improvement initiatives to enhance service quality and store standards.
  • Contain non‑conformance material.
  • Perform additional tasks to support Ultra Electronics’ objectives as required.
Essential Requirements
  • Experience in a stores, warehouse, or dispatch environment.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Follow and give clear instructions.
  • Attention to detail and consistently high‑quality work.
  • Computer literate.
  • Adaptable and flexible in work approach.
  • Manage daily key activities to meet timescales and quality standards.
Desirable Requirements
  • Experience working in an aerospace organisation.
  • Knowledge of ERP/MRP systems.
  • ONC, City and Guilds, or equivalent qualification in a technical discipline.
