Salary: £55,000 to £75,000 (depending on experience)
A forward thinking and people centred law firm is seeking an Associate to join its Governance & Risk team. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified lawyer with at least 2 years' experience to support the firm's regulatory, risk and compliance framework within a collaborative, innovative and commercially aware environment.
The RoleYou will work as an experienced member of the Governance & Risk team, providing legal and regulatory support across a wide range of internal risk and compliance matters, including:
- Conflicts of interest
- Anti money laundering and financial crime
- Data protection and information governance
- SRA Accounts Rules
- Claims and complaints handling
- Advising partners, lawyers and business services teams
- Supporting improvements to firmwide processes and risk systems
- Contributing to a culture of strong governance and high professional standards
This role is suited to a qualified lawyer who can demonstrate:
- Minimum 2 years' PQE, ideally within risk & compliance, professional indemnity or litigation
- Strong knowledge of conflicts, AML and financial crime (highly desirable)
- Experience managing key processes and procedures
Excellent written and verbal communication skills - Confidence engaging with senior stakeholders
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities
- A proactive, solutions focused mindset
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Interest in transitioning from fee earning into a specialist risk and compliance role
