Who Are We?

We are recruiting a Principal Cloud Solutions Architect to work with a multi-national, industry-leading cyber security/defence company in Cheltenham. Our teams are what drive us forward in our mission to make the UK as safe as possible. Therefore, we are looking for the best talent to join the team. Due to the nature of our client, you must hold an active enhanced DV clearance.

What will the Principal Cloud Solutions Architect be doing?

As part of Secure Cloud Solutions, our client helps customers refactor, re-platform, and rehost mission-critical systems in AWS. As an architect within a project team, you'll apply agile architecture expertise, grow your technical skills, and deliver high-quality documentation and solutions. You'll also support others by mentoring junior engineers, leading training sessions, and sharing knowledge through internal documentation and Centres of Excellence.

Their work delivers mission value by transforming systems to enhance reliability, reduce costs, and enable agility using Infrastructure as Code and Dev Sec Ops  practices.

You Must Have:

• Active enhanced DV Clearance (West)
• Willing to work full-time on-site in Cheltenham when required.

Key Experience Required:

• Strong background in IT systems design, deployment, and administration, including recent technical or team leadership roles
• AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional, with additional specialist certifications
• Proven experience in designing, deploying, and managing AWS cloud solutions
• In-depth administration experience with Linux or Windows in large-scale enterprise environments
• Extensive knowledge of IPv4 networking design, deployment, and troubleshooting
• Skilled in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using AWS CDK, Cloud Formation, or Terraform
• Hands-on experience with virtualisation and containerisation using Docker and Kubernetes
• Experienced in working within complex or high-security environments
• Experience implementing CI/CD pipelines within Dev Ops environments
• Familiar with Dev Ops practices, including Git branching strategies and release management
• Skilled in secure network design and configuration of IPv4 routers and firewalls
• Proficient in administering Linux or Windows servers in large enterprise settings
• Experience with centralised configuration management tools like Ansible or Puppet
• Comfortable using agile collaboration tools such as Jira and Confluence
• Knowledge of Agile delivery frameworks, including Scrum and SAFe
• Understanding of ITIL-based service management practices
