This is a front line position and you will often be the first health care worker that the patients see in our department so it is therefore essential that you are a good communicator and can greet each individual with respect and dignity.

.
- meet and greet patients upon arrival, making them feel safe and secure in our care across the two acute hospitals in our Trust.
- prepare patients for their examinations/procedures. This includes providing clear instruction, assisting with changing, cannulation and radiation protection screening.
- perform administrative and house keeping tasks to facilitate effective service delivery
- monitoring patients for the duration of their visit, including vital signs observations as required
- support the nursing team in providing quality patient care in two Interventional Day Case Units
- transfer of patients to and from the department as well as in and out of examination rooms and onto specific imaging tables.
- contribute to a clean and safe department, complying with policies and reporting faults quickly
- working within a multidisciplinary team to provide essential services to almost every patient that visits the hospital
- To deliver direct patient care in line with Trust values caring, listening and excelling and how this relates to yourself and patients.
- Support the nursing team to delivery high quality care for patients Day Case Units and the IR labs.
- Undertake patient observations and documentation in line with the NEWS (national early warning score) system. Respond to signs of a deteriorating patient and alert the appropriate team if a need for emergency intervention is required following the departmental protocol.
- Perform Cannulation and removal of cannula after appropriate training.
- Support the interventional procedures in all modalities through competency in sterile trolley preparation and decanting and assisting as required.

The post-holder is responsible for delivering highly skilled patient focused care, acting as an advocate for patient safety and excellent experiences within the trust.

Qualifications and Training- GCSE English and Maths grade C or equivalent
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Caring and Compassionate with understanding Trust values
- Be able to work under pressure and prioritize workload. Be able to deal with day-to-day decisions when working single-handed
- Experience of Radiology Appointments, CRIS or the Trak Care patient system.
