The Role As Management Accountant, you’ll take responsibility for the day-to-day financial operations while driving meaningful insight to support strategic decision-making. You’ll lead a small, capable finance team and work collaboratively across the business to support future growth. Key areas of responsibility include:
Partnering with the Managing Director on financial strategy and long-term planning Leading and developing a busy finance team, ensuring high performance and continual improvement Producing monthly management accounts including P&L, balance sheet, margin analysis and commentary Managing cashflow forecasting and supporting wider cash management activity Costing, stock analysis and oversight of regular stock takes Leading annual budgets and rolling forecasts Reviewing and explaining variances across overheads and gross margins Preparing monthly journals and reconciling balance sheet accounts Ensuring ongoing audit readiness and supporting year-end processes Overseeing payroll, VAT returns and liaising with external service providers Acting as a proactive business partner within the senior leadership team What We’re Looking For To succeed in this role, you’ll bring a strong blend of technical expertise, commercial thinking and leadership capability.
Essential experience includes:
Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) Proven experience within a manufacturing environment Previous line management experience — confident in coaching and developing a team Strong grounding in management accounts, budgeting, forecasting and financial planning
Experience with stock costing, BOM-style processes and reconciliations Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple deadlines Confident communicator who builds strong relationships across the business High attention to detail and a drive to improve processes and performance
