We are seeking an enthusiastic and skilled academic/industry practitioner who can contribute to the teaching and learning on the BA & MA Landscape Architecture degrees, as well as offer possible course leadership, here at the University of Gloucestershire.
About the SchoolThe School of Creative Arts traces its distinguished history back to 1852 when the Cheltenham School of Art was established. Today, as one of the three constituent Schools in the University of Gloucestershire, the School of Arts, Culture and Environment currently has over 2300 students and offers a wide range of undergraduate and postgraduate courses, as well as Postgraduate Study & PhD’s
Subjects offered by the School of Arts, Culture and Environment includes, Humanities, Journalism, Film & TV, Art & Design, Performing Arts, Photography, and Architecture, Construction & Environment. The Landscape Architecture Course at University of Gloucestershire prides itself on the development of a course that prepares students for employability within an ever-changing profession as a key contributor to environmental development in a range of different sectors and scales across the globe.
Aboutthe role
The teaching team encourage and promote inspiration and innovation within the field of design across all levels, thoroughly underpinned by critical theory and rigorous technical knowledge and understanding.
The course brings together and harmonises conceptual and spatial design theories with a desire to provide our students with highly developed professional skills.
The world is possibly faster moving now than at any time in the planet’s history.
Within our field of landscape design and within our course aims and objectives we aspire to equip our students with a portfolio of creative and technical skills that will allow them to rise to challenges, emerge as high achievers within the workplace and to move forward in their careers competently and confidently.
As the longest standing landscape degree course in the United Kingdom, we are proud of our reputation and standing and as a group of academics and students with a common purpose we are now enjoying a new era whereby our international status is beginning to grow and develop.
Individuals applying for this role will possess a future-focused approach and comprehensive understanding of contemporary industry practice and as such, this individual will be expected to work and contribute to maintain all aspects of professional course accreditation. Applications are invited from individuals who have a with some experience of undergraduate/Postgraduate teaching in the following areas:

- Landscape History
- Landscape Design
- Landscape Planning
- LVIA and Professional practice
- Research methods
The individual we are looking for will provide high quality teaching, learning and assessment in Landscape Architecture and design for undergraduate and postgraduate courses. A course leadership opportunity to Lead the BA or MA in Landscape Architecture (& Conversion courses) may become part of this role. To participate in the curriculum development of courses. To carry out research and enterprise activity and to maintain a professional and research profile.
To bring industry expertise into the area and provide students with support to help them to enter their chosen world of work.
