About the Role

A quality-focused housing developer seeks an experienced Senior Site Manager to lead a new traditional housing project based in Cheltenham. This role is pivotal in ensuring the delivery of high-quality new build homes, maintaining standards, and managing all site activities from inception to completion.

Key Responsibilities

Plan, organise and oversee all site operations to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
Manage subcontractors and suppliers to maintain high standards of workmanship and compliance with health and safety regulations.
Monitor site progress and prepare regular reports on performance, risks, and issues for senior management.
Ensure strict adherence to site safety protocols and legal requirements, promoting a safe working environment at all times.
Coordinate with project managers, engineers and other stakeholders to resolve any site-related issues promptly.
Maintain accurate records of site activities, including daily logs, inspections, and compliance documentation.
Lead and motivate site teams to achieve project milestones and maintain high standards of workmanship.
Manage resource allocation and material deliveries to optimise site efficiency and minimise delays.
Implement quality control procedures to ensure finished homes meet company and regulatory standards.

Required Qualifications and Certifications

SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme) certification.
CSCS (Construction Skills Certification Scheme) card.
Valid First Aid certificate.
Full, clean UK driving licence.
NVQ Level 6 in Construction Site Management or equivalent qualification.

Knowledge and Skills

Strong leadership and communication skills to effectively manage site teams and liaise with stakeholders.
Excellent organisational and planning abilities to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines.
Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications and contract documents.
Proficient in monitoring budgets and controlling site costs.
Highly attentive to detail with a commitment to quality and safety standards.

Working Conditions

This position requires regular attendance on construction sites in varying weather conditions.
Full-time hours are expected, with occasional extended hours to meet project deadlines.
The role involves physical activity, including site inspections and walking across uneven terrain.
Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is mandatory on site at all times.
