Job overviewAdministrative Assistant/Secretary - Brain Injury Team, Band 3 (12 hours a week)
This is an exciting, varied and challenging position in the Administrative Team of the Gloucestershire Brain Injury Service. An opportunity to work as part of a small team and provide a proactive and responsive administration service to a busy multi-disciplinary clinical team providing therapy services to patients with acquired brain injury.

The post is band 3 (12 hours). We have some flexibility about the working pattern but it would need to be between 2 and 4 days to include a Friday (Mon‑Fri). Please state in your application any restrictions or preferences of working hours/days.
The post is based at Gloucester Royal Hospital with occasional (once a fortnight) need to travel to CGH within work time (there is a shuttle bus)
Main duties of the jobTo provide an efficient, confidential and professional administration service to the Brain Injury Team
To assist in developing and maintaining administrative system
To ensure patients’ records are properly maintained within the Trak clinical administration system.
To use a detailed understanding of the nature of the clinical work carried out by the Brain injury team in order to assess incoming enquiries, or unexpected events, and decide on an appropriate and timely course of action; for example deciding on urgency of response, passing enquiry to an appropriate member of staff, rearranging clinical work or staff deployment, or dealing with an angry patient who arrives at the department without an appointment.
Communication by telephone and personal contact with brain injured patients (and relatives) who may be confused or aggressive and who may have cognitive and/or sensory difficulties.
To assist team members in the preparation of training and therapy materials.
To regularly arrange, attend and minute meetings and case conferences and distribute typed up notes…
